Giving Manatee A Helping Hand

The Habitat Florida Manatee program will splash into the Tampa Bay area with a series of manatee habitat cleanups this March.

Kayak Nature Adventures will provide kayaks and eco-tours free of charge during the cleanups! Come on out and enjoy the tour, learn about your water resources and fill a bag of trash during the trip. Together we will help protect and preserve Florida’s manatee habitat!

"The protection and preservation of our precious manatee habitat is largely in the hands of the people. Our goal is to provide a recreational outlet and give residents and visitors the opportunity to be part of this extremely important and exciting adventure," said Kurt Zuelsdorf, a 20-year resident of Gulfport and owner/operator of Kayak Nature Adventures, LLC. Zuelsdorf has been nationally recognized for his environmental efforts in and around Pinellas County.

Clam Bayou, Bear Creek, Terra Ceia Preserve, Cross Bayou, Coffee Pot Bayou and Weeki Wachee River are on the agenda to give the manatee a helping hand.
