2010 National Night Out

National Night Out is August 3. Gulfport Crime Awareness and Prevention
has stepped up to the plate for an event that evening. Our preliminary plan is
to gather at the Neighborhood Center for a kick off of the “Give Neighborhood
Crime and Drugs a Going-Away Party”.

The kick off will be a walk to show a united effort of both municipalities
(Gulfport and St. Petersburg) to include residents and businesses from both
sides of 49th Street. The walk will start on 49th Street S. and 16th Avenue (in
front of the Neighborhood Center) and go south to the Tangerine Greenway
(Tangerine Avenue/18th Avenue S.). The Tangerine Greenway will then be
the site for the “Going Away Party”. The intent is for community building,
education and a united effort.
