Boating Safety Classes in Gulfport
USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 7-16 is located at 3120 Miriam Street S. behind Gulfport City Marina. Power point classes are every Thursday evening from 7:30-9:30 p.m. with a cost of $40 per student for a 400 page color book. It is a 13 week revolving class you may start any Thursday.Upon completing chapters 1-8, students will be eligible for their Florida State Safe Boating Card. The new FWC rule states that anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 is required to have successfully completed a approved boating education course and have in their possession a boating education ID card and photo identification card before operating a vessel with a motor of 10 HP or more in Florida. After graduating the 13 week course, in addition to insurance discounts you will recieve a “comp” 1 year BoatU.S. membership.
