Artisans and Crafters will be displaying their unique talents along Beach Blvd. and live entertainment can be heard throughout the waterfront district.
A celebration of the Halloween season for all ages and creatures will take place on Saturday, October 30th in Gulfport’s Art Village Courtyard, at Beach Blvd. and 29th Ave. South. Java Nirvana will host “Javaween 2010” beginning with a children’s costume contest at 5:30 p.m. A costume contest for pets will take place at 6:30, and judging for adult costumes will be at 8 p.m. Prizes for contest winners will include gift certificates, food and merchandise from local businesses. Java Nirvana will offer drink specials throughout the evening. Local band Bleu Gravy will take the Courtyard stage from 7 to 10 p.m., performing their unique fusion of blues, folk, rock, jazz and world music. For more information on Javaween, call (727) 323-5904 or email

Gulfport’s Industrial Arts Center, also located in the Art Village Courtyard, will be open during Javaween. The Center will offer glass-blowing demonstrations and a menu of hands-on opportunities to blow an original glass art work, guided by the award-winning glass artists on staff. Their special “Pumpkin Patch” will showcase a variety of hand-blown glass pumpkins available for sale, as well as an opportunity to create your own hand-blown pumpkin. For more information on activities at the Industrial Arts Center, call (727) 289-9365.
