FEMA Informational Meeting, Schedule and Venue change
Due to a schedule change, FEMA will now be hosting an informational meeting on Thursday, July 30th at 6:30 p.m. at the new location of the Catherine Hickman Theater at 5501 27th Ave. S. Panel guests include: Bob Durrin from FEMA, Mike Whitman from Whitco Insurance and David Clukie from the National Flood Insurance Program and City Staff. Discussion will be on the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and the requirements. Flooding and flood-related issues will also be covered. Subjects will also include the Community Rating System program in which the City participates in beyond the NFIP minimum requirements. In doing so, the City residents who own property within the designated 100-year floodplain and have a flood insurance policy, receive a 15% discount off their flood insurance premium.
This meeting is open to the public and would be valuable information to anyone who pays for flood insurance. For more information, please call Mike Taylor at 727-893-1087.
