Shop, dine, relax and enjoy new friends in our eclectic waterfront Community.
Artisans and Crafters will be displaying their unique talents along Beach Blvd. and live entertainment can be heard throughout the waterfront district.
You are all invited to join in the City of Gulfport’s 99th Birthday Bash on Saturday, October 17 from 4-9 p.m. And what better way to celebrate than to have a good old fashion Gulfport Birthday party at the Historical Museum? Children can sign up for a Chalk Art Contest and enjoy other free activities. You can check out crafters and flea marketers along 28th Ave. S., take a guided trolley tour of Old Gulfport and try your hand at the popular Mullet toss. Grilled hot dogs and a yummy traditional fish fry dinner are available for purchase. Music will be provided by the Island Boys and The Bobby Tess Trio at 5 p.m. in the newly renovated Scout Hall right next door.
During this event, take an inside tour of the Gulfport Historical Museum and pick up your new Historical Society Gulfport Centennial Calendar. It has all the important Gulfport numbers and event dates for 2010. It is a bonus 15 month calendar with the dates of October 2009–December 2010. Calendars will be ready for purchase for $5 at the birthday bash and orders are already coming in, so be sure to get your calendar or call the Gulfport Historical Museum at 727-327-0505.
Also, be a part of History as Gulfport historian, author and artist, Lynne Brown releases her new book, “Gulfport, A definitive History.” She will be at the event for book signings. So call your old friends and meet some new ones at the 99th Annual City of Gulfport Birthday Bash at the Historical Museum at 5301 28 Avenue S. on Saturday, October 17 from 4-9 p.m. Come and have a piece of cake to celebrate Gulfport’s 99th birthday!
